PREPRODUCTION
Blood at the Root is a historical fiction drama by Dominique Morisseau, based on the story of the Jena 6 and the riots that ensued in Louisiana in 2006. This story is a compelling narrative of racial relations, the miscarriage of justice, and the role that the media's portrayal of these events plays in the destruction of a black family.
For this production, I used a combination of research images and "mini plots" to help communicate my concepts for specific moments.

There is a moment in the show where we focus on Raylynn as three nooses are revealed to be hanging in the tree behind her. Below are two rough digital models of the moment, compared to the production photo of that moment.
